Services: CHC provides family practice care to those with or without insurance in the greater Tacoma and Pierce County area. Those without insurance are treated on a sliding fee scale based on income, family size, and services provided.

Healthcare for the Homeless

Services: HCH provides primary health care as well as dental, psychiatric, and case management services for people experiencing homelessness. Other services include: case management, hygiene, laundry, and storage lockers.

Services: Neighborhood Clinic provides free urgent care to patients who cannot afford or access health care. Patients with long term (chronic) health care issues are referred to a health care provider in the community.

Services: The Medical Clinic is open to anyone without medical insurance. Volunteer doctors and nurses are available weekly to assist patients with a variety of medical concerns ranging from flu shots and sports physicals to diabetes help and prescription refills.

MDC Mobile Medical and Dental Clinics

Services: Provides mobile medical and dental clinics for homeless children and families at rotating sites in Pierce County.

Pierce College Dental Clinic

Services: Low-cost preventive dental care is available to students and members of the community at the Pierce College dental hygiene clinic, located on the Fort Steilacoom campus. Dental hygiene students perform oral health assessments, x-rays,teeth cleaning, dental hygiene periodontal therapy, sealant and fluoride applications. Restorations (fillings) are performed on selected patients. Work is done by dental hygiene students and is checked by instructors who are licensed dentists and dental hygienists. Procedures take longer than in a private dental office.

The TACID Center was built under a Referendum 37 agreement between the State of Washington, the City of Tacoma and Tacoma Community College. The facility opened in April 1984. It is owned by the city on land belonging to the college. The space is operated by TACID. More than forty disability organizations collaborate to provide six different programs that serve over 3,000 different individuals each year.
